Attraction of success in Balneario Camboriu, Santa Catarina, and in the rest of national territory, the Touristic Complex Cristo Luz attracts thousands of visitors every year from Brazil and abroad to find fun and leisure. With unforgettable and panoramic views is easy to observe closer the great monument artistically sculpted and even the daily show of colors and lights in the sky of the city.

Located in one of the highest points of Balneario Camboriu to 155 meters tall, the monument Cristo Luz has 33 meters high, 22 meters wide and weighs 528 tons. It was carved by hand plaster, and builds with iron, steel and ciment.

It was held in October 4, 1997, in a partnership of private enterprises and the owner´s hill area Carlos da Rosa, becoming an important touristic point.

Lights and colors in the sky of Balneario Camboriu

Cristo Luz has unique characteristics that amaze all the visitors. Every night, people wondered around the downtown area of Balneario Camboriu can enjoy the multicolored lights of the monument, an unfrequented attraction in Brazil.

The robe of the monument Is also featured with special lighting. The Italian system with high technology illuminates the entire body of the monument. The equipment has 1,800 w each one with seven colors combinations.

With open hands, the Christ hold in this left hand the symbol of the sun which ”enlightens and blesses the whole city and its tourists” . The appliance has a light equipment of 6,600 watts and is divided in 24 rays through a set of mirrors expanding its power to 8,000 w –which revolves an angle of 180 degrees and reach a radius of 15 kilometers.

The lights of Cristo Luz are lit daily-December to March, from 8:00pm and on April to November from 7:00pm. For each day o the week there is a predominant color with a symbol meaning:
